Hilly Regions

Many areas in Alabama pose unique challenges because of the hilly terrain. You’ll encounter high spots and dips in the road. Here is an interesting law for you to be aware of: when traveling downhill, it is illegal to put your vehicle in neutral and coast. The price of a citation you receive for doing this will easily be more than the price of the gas you think you might save by coasting.
